Major league ballparks and NFL stadiums have long been used as an end-point for marathons, 10k races and even walks.
But a fundraiser for the Red Sox Foundation recently put a new twist on incorporating a famous stadium into a P2P event — playing host to an entire marathon within the cozy confines of Boston’s Fenway Park.
According to The Boston Globe, the inaugural event involved 116 laps around Fenway’s warning track.
Participation was limited to just 50 runners — each of whom had to raise at least $5,000 to qualify.
